{Tech:Europe} Big Berlin Hack

Static 2D product images can be boring. We wanted to fix that. During the {Tech: Europe} Big Berlin Hackathon, my teammates Frederick Dutz, Quan Zheng, and I built Wiggly. It is a tool that turns static product photos into 360-degree interactive 3D animations you can embed directly on your site.

Generating the 3D Scene

We built this for the AI Motion track sponsored by Hera (YC S25). Hera provides an interesting interface for AI animation. This inspired us to create a solution that takes standard product images, generates 3D models, and uses three.js to render an interactive scene.

We named it Wiggly because it makes flat images do the "wiggle, wiggle, wiggle" movement. Yes, that is a direct shoutout to Jason Derulo.

Shipping the Demo

The competition was intense. Only one winner was selected per track. We did not take the top spot, but we shipped a product we actually want to use.

You can check out the code on GitHub or try the live demo. The demo still has a few bugs we plan to fix later this week. Feel free to open an issue or share feedback on features you would like to see.

The Berlin Experience

This was my first time visiting Berlin. Doing it for a hackathon made the trip chaotic and fun. I am glad I met Frederick and Quan. We had a great time building this together.

Thanks to Bela Wiertz and the {Tech: Europe} team for organizing the event, and to the mentors who helped guide our product design.
